where do the numbers for the number of units built come from?

The Alpina D3 is the first four-cylinder diesel from the vehicle manufacturer Alpina and the first ever passenger car diesel with a liter output of 74 kW. It is based on the BMW E90 / E91. The D3 has a turbo- charged diesel engine with an output of 147 kW. A total of 866 units of the Alpina D3 were built; including 252 touring and 614 sedan models. It was produced from December 2005 to April 2008 and from then on replaced by the Alpina D3 Biturbo .

Furnishing

Compared to the BMW E90, the D3 is equipped with an additional front spoiler. The trim strips in gold or silver on the sides and on the front apron and the rear spoiler lip are also optionally available. The BMW exhaust system was supplemented by a chrome-plated twin tailpipe. The D3 could only be ordered with a manual transmission. An automatic transmission could only be ordered with the D3 Biturbo. Each car has a sticker with the serial number in the interior above the inside mirror. The D3 has the injectors of the 535d (more precisely: E6X, M57NTOP, 306D4); Furthermore, the turbocharger was replaced by a Garrett GTB1756VK. The charge air cooler comes from the 325d or 330 (x) d (E9X).

particularities

When the model was introduced at the beginning of 2006, BMW had not yet occupied the niche between 320d and 330d in the 3-series , so that the D3 initially remained unrivaled within the BMW model family.
