The Alpina B7 (E65 / E66) is the highest motorized model in the 7 series. Technically and optically, the Alpina B7 is based on the BMW 7 series (E65), especially the 750i. The Alpina B7 is 40 kW more powerful than the BMW 760i and accelerates (according to the 7-Forum ) in 4.8 seconds from 0-100 km / h. The Alpina B7 should have a particularly sporty appearance with additional spoilers, chrome-plated individual parts and other visual refinements.

Like all Alpina models, the Alpina is finished by hand in Buchloe. After the facelift of the production model BMW E65 from 2005, the Alpina B7 also took on the visual changes. Additional spoilers and other optical accessories basically remained the same even after the facelift.

The Alpina B7, which was manufactured up to April 2005, differed primarily in terms of additional front and rear spoilers and chrome-plated tailpipes. The 4.4-liter engine was upgraded to 368 kW (500 hp) with the help of a radial compressor. The predecessor of the Alpina B7, the Alpina B12 6.0, had a lower output of 6.0 liters. The Alpina B7 is also available as a long version based on the BMW E66 .

The 2nd generation of the Alpina B7 based on the new BMW F01 , which has been available since November 2008, was presented at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show . The B7 provides 373 kW (507 hp) at 5500 min -1 and 280 km / h slower than its predecessor. Alpina justifies the lower top speed with the tires. There are no tires for the standard 21-inch Alpina wheels that allow a higher speed in connection with the vehicle weight. In the later configuration of the car 397 kW (540 hp) at 5200 min -1 and a torque of 730 Nm. Consumption could be reduced to 9.9 liters of Super Plus. One reason for this is likely to be the lower weight and the standard 8-speed sports automatic. The speed was increased to 312 km / h, despite the 21-inch tires.

In 2012, 10 Alpina B7 Biturbo were newly registered in Germany, 9 of them from commercial owners.
