Amandine Suzanne Monique Leynaud (born May 2, 1986 in Aubenas , France ) is a French handball player . She plays for the Hungarian club Győri ETO KC and in the French national handball team .
Career
Leynaud began playing handball in her home town of Aubenas and then played in Bourg-de-Péage. From 2004 the goalkeeper guarded the goal of the French first division team Metz Handball . With Metz, she won the championship six times, the league cup seven times and the French cup once. From summer 2012 she played for the Romanian club CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea . After Râmnicu Vâlcea got into financial difficulties and she could not be paid a salary for several months, she used a release clause of her contract in February 2013 and switched to the Macedonian club ŽRK Vardar SCBT . Due to a ruptured cruciate ligament , she did not play a single competitive game for Oltchim. She has been under contract with the top Hungarian club Győri ETO KC since summer 2018 . Leynaud has been a goalkeeping coach in the first team of Győri ETO KC since the 2020/21 season. She will also remain in the squad as the third goalkeeper.
Leynaud has played 228 games for the French selection so far. The right-hander took part in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games with the French team. She won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She won the bronze medal at the 2016 European Championships . In 2013 and 2017 she won the World Cup with France. She also played for France at the 2007 , 2009 , 2011 , 2013 and 2015 World Championships . Leynaud won the gold medal at the 2018 European Championship and was also elected to the All-Star team.
