Amardeo Sarma

Amardeo Sarma (* 1955 in Kassel ) is a German - Indian electrical engineer and manager .

Sarma is the initiator, founding member and chairman of the Society for the Scientific Investigation of Parasciences (GWUP), a fellow and member of the executive committee of CSI (formerly CSICOP ) and board member of the European skeptics organization ECSO .

Amardeo Sarma was born in West Germany and spent his youth in India. Amardeo Sarma studied electrical engineering at the IIT Delhi in New Delhi with a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree and at the Technical University in Darmstadt with a Dipl.-Ing.

From 1981 to 1995 Sarma was initially a research associate at the research institute of the Deutsche Bundespost Telekom and later head of a research group in the telecommunications sector. From 1995 to 1999 he was Project Supervisor at Eurescom GmbH until he returned as Head of Technology and Method Management at T-Nova Deutsche Telekom Innovationsgesellschaft mbH. Since 2001 he has been working at NEC Laboratories Europe in Heidelberg, where he is currently General Manager of the Social Solutions Division.

From 1996, Sarma was chairman of study commission 10 and from 2002 to 2004 co-chair of study commission 17 of the ITU-T in Geneva, which was merged from study commissions 7 and 10 . He is currently chairman of the Trust in Digital Life association based in Brussels.

His professional focus is digital broadband communication , especially specification methods , formal methods , communication procedures and protocols, middleware and R&D management . His current responsibilities include: a. the topics of security and the Internet of Things.

Among other things, he wrote articles on earth rays , dowsing rods , the Turin shroud and dealing with parasciences . He made numerous radio and television appearances for the GWUP. Lately, Sarma has written and lectured several times on the subject of climate change and global warming . He called for "a turn away from the blind angry bourgeoisie against nuclear power ".

Amardeo Sarma has been a member of the SPD for more than 40 years .

Hobbies

Rock music - he has played in various bands (vocals, bass, guitar) and composed some of the band's songs software. In 1977 he played the role of Judas in the performance of Jesus Christ Superstar in Delhi.

Amardeo Sarma lives with his family in Roßdorf . He is related to the Indian physicist CV Raman .
