American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile is the fifth installment in the American Pie series . However, like The Next Generation , this film did not come to the cinemas, but was only released on DVD as a so-called direct-to-DVD production. Eugene Levy is the only actor who can be seen in all eight parts.

action

The characters Steve and Matt Stifler, known from previous American Pie films, have a younger cousin, Erik, who, unlike them, is shy and is still a “ virgin ” at the end of his high school days , as well as another cousin, Dwight . This fits more into the Stifler family.

Erik's girlfriend is initially not ready for sex , and a first date fails when her father shows up on a midnight date.

Since Erik's girlfriend feels guilty that Erik is starving to death on the edge of the bed, she gives him a guilt free pass for the naked mile weekend, which allows him to do whatever he wants for a whole weekend. Erik's friends Ryan and Mike are thrilled and the three of them drive to the legendary Naked Mile, a traditionally naked campus run .

Once on campus, they see Erik's cousin win a drinking duel. Then the group, together with other students, faces a team of short players on the football field, to whom they are barely defeated.

However, it turns out differently than planned. Erik meets Jim's dad on campus, who advises him to listen to his heart to know what is right and what is not about girlfriends, and finally not to be a virgin. On the way home from his last acquaintance, Dwight is beaten by the dwarfs. Due to the injuries sustained, participation in the naked mile run no longer seems possible. When Erik and his friends are harassed by their opponents again at the beginning of the run, Dwight appears with IV bags taped to his arms and rips off his hospital shirt to the cheers of the crowd.

The bare mile party after the run is a complete success: Ryan, Mike and Dwight have a night of alcohol and sex. Erik, however, gets a remorse about his girlfriend, drives home in Ryan's car and ends up on the track without petrol. He steals a horse and rides the rest of the way. When he arrives, he experiences his first time with his girlfriend and is glad that he did the right thing. In revenge, Dwight sends the leader of the short football team a DVD that reveals that he and his girlfriend are having sex.

Financial success

The film grossed around $ 27.4 million worldwide on a budget of $ 15 million. This makes it the second most successful film in the spin-off series.

Reviews

Carsten Baumgardt writes on Filmstarts.de: "American Pie Presents: Naked Facts" is the temporary, embarrassing low point of a franchise that continues to be ridden to death regardless of losses. and it's sad to see Levy so humiliated.

Philip Strohs (zelluloid.de) Conclusion about the film: It's not “American Pie”, but “American Pie Presents”. With a closed eye, fans of the Stiflers and Jim's dad can pass the “Naked Facts” as a mediocre party film with a few references to the cult comedies about Jim Levenstein & Co.
