Amphoe Chiang Muan ( Thai อำเภอ เชียงม่วน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the south of Phayao Province . Phayao Province is located in the northeastern part of the northern region of Thailand .

Amphoe Chiang Muan is located in the south of Phayao Province and borders the Nan and Phrae provinces .

Chiang Muan is bordered clockwise from the Amphoe Dok Khamtai and Pong in Phayao Province, Amphoe Ban Luang in Nan Province and Song in Phrae Province .

An important river in the county is the Mae Nam Yom (Yom River) .

The National Park Doi Phu Nang is also in Chiang Muan.

education

Chiang Muan received financial support from the Thai government to improve the education situation in rural areas of Phayao. Then the Chiang Muan Wittayakhom School was built, which is designed as a secondary school for grades 6 to 12.

history

Chiang Muan was originally part of the Amphoe Ban Muang ( Amph ) of Chiang Rai Province , which was later renamed Amphoe Pong . On May 12, 1969, the "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) Chiang Muan was formed as a subordinate administrative unit of the Amphoe Pong and comprised the two tambon Chiang Muan and Sa. On April 1, 1974, the upgrade to a full amphoe took place. After the new Phayao Province was formed in 1977, Chiang Mun was incorporated into it.

Local administration

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Chiang Muan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียงม่วน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Chiang Muan and parts of the Tambon Ban Mang.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Ban Mang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน มา ง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Ban Mang.
  • Sa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สระ ) consisting of the complete tambon Sa.
