Amphoe Dok Khamtai ( Thai : อำเภอ ดอกคำใต้ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Phayao Province . Phayao Province is located in the northeastern part of the northern region of Thailand .

geography

Seen from the north, Dok Khamtai borders in a clockwise direction with Amphoe Pa Daet in Chiang Rai Province , Amphoe Chun , Pong and Chiang Muan in Phayao Province, Amphoe Song in Phrae Province , Amphoe Ngao in Lampang Province and Amphoe Mueang Phayao and Amphoe Phu Kamyao also in Phayao.

An important river in the county is the Mae Nam Ing ( Ing River ) .

history

The district was originally created in 1832, but dissolved on December 23, 1917 and incorporated into Amphoe Mueang Phayao . On January 24, 1963, Dok Khamtai was set up again, but initially as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) . On July 27, 1965, it was then promoted to Amphoe.

etymology

Dok Khamtai is the Thai name of the sweet acacia ( Acacia farnesiana (L.) Willd.), A small tree with fragrant flowers that used to grow around the administration building.

Local administration

There is one commune with "city" status ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the district:

  • Dok Khamtai (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ดอกคำใต้ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Bun Koet and the parts of the Tambon Dok Khamtai, Don Si Chum, Sawang Arom.

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Nong Lom (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง หล่ม ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Lom.
  • Ban Tham (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน ถ้ำ ) consisting of the complete tambon Ban Tham.
  • Huai Lan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย ลาน ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Lan.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administration Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Dok Khamtai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ดอกคำใต้ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Dok Khamtai.
  • Don Si Chum (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ดอน ศรี ชุม ) consisting of parts of the tambon Don Si Chum.
  • Ban Pin (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน ปิ น ) consisting of the complete Tambon Ban Pin.
  • San Khong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สัน โค้ง ) consisting of the complete Tambon San Khong and parts of the Tambon Sawang flavor.
  • Pa Sang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ป่าซาง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pa Sang.
  • Dong Suwan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ดง สุวรรณ ) consisting of the complete tambon Dong Suwan.
  • Khue Wiang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล คือ เวียง ) consisting of the complete tambon Khue Wiang.
