history

The office was formed in 1970 with the formation of the North Friesland district from the municipalities of the offices of Osterlandföhr and Westerlandföhr . The Goting community was incorporated into Nieblum and Oldsum-Klintum and Toftum merged to form the Oldsum community.

The seat of the official administration was originally Midlum. In August 2006 the administrative headquarters were relocated to the town of Wyk due to the emerging merger. The office was then dissolved on December 31, 2006 as part of the administrative structural reform in Schleswig-Holstein. Together with Wyk and the three communities on the neighboring island of Amrum , the Föhr-Amrum office was established on January 1, 2007 .
