The Segeberg-Land office was created in 1970 as part of an administrative reform from the Pronstorf, Traventhal and Segeberg-Land offices.
At the end of December 31, 2005, the offices of Segeberg-Land and Wensin dissolved and from January 1, 2006, the municipalities formed the Office of Trave-Land with its administrative headquarters in Bad Segeberg.
