geography

The Warburg-Land office was in the southwest of the Warburg district. The office encompassed the city of Warburg to a large extent, and the offices of Peckelsheim and Borgentreich (Warburg district), the Hessian districts of Hofgeismar and Waldeck and the Büren district bordered the office in a clockwise direction beginning in the north .

history

As part of the introduction of the rural community order for the province of Westphalia, the Warburg office was established in the Warburg district in 1843. The office was renamed on January 30, 1932 in Warburg-Land . The city of Warburg did not belong to the office before it was renamed. In 1911 the Warburg-Land office building on Kasseler Strasse was occupied. This building was used as an administrative office until January 1, 1975.

On the basis of Section 31 of the Sauerland / Paderborn Act of November 5, 1974, the municipalities of the office merged with the municipality of Daseburg of the Borgentreich office and the city of Warburg on January 1, 1975 to form the new city of Warburg.
