The District Court of Villingen-Schwenningen is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of a total of seven district courts in the district of the District Court of Constance .

The seat of the court is Villingen-Schwenningen . The judicial district of the Villingen-Schwenningen District Court includes the cities and communities Bad Dürrheim , Brigachtal , Dauchingen , Königsfeld in the Black Forest , Mönchweiler , Niedereschach , St. Georgen in the Black Forest , Schönwald in the Black Forest , Schonach in the Black Forest , Triberg in the Black Forest , Tuningen , Unterkirnach and Villingen -Schwenningen.

The district court of Villingen-Schwenningen is located on the edge of the old town of Villingen, where the Niedere Tor used to be, in Niederen Straße 94 (main building). The main building is a listed building.

The district court has ancillary buildings in Kronengasse 14 (civil and family departments), Schwenninger Str. 2 (care department and probate court) and in Carlo-Schmid-Str. 7/9 (land registry) and at Niederen Tor 3 (branch office of the public prosecutor's office and the district court of Constance).

Superior courts

The District Court of Constance is superordinate to the District Court of Villingen-Schwenningen as the next higher instance, in family matters the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe .
