The district court of Überlingen is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of seven district courts (AG) in the district of Konstanz . Günther Völk has been the director of the local court since 2015.

Seat and District of the Court

The court is based in Überlingen and is responsible for the communities of Bermatingen , Daisendorf , Deggenhausertal , Frickingen , Hagnau am Bodensee , Heiligenberg , Markdorf , Meersburg , Oberteuringen , Owingen , Salem , Sipplingen , Stetten , Überlingen, Uhldingen-Mühlhofen .

Basically, the District Court of Überlingen is responsible for all matters relating to the district court; the District Court of Überlingen also handles the foreclosure and administrative proceedings for the district of the Stockach District Court .

In matters of dunning, the Stuttgart District Court is centrally responsible for the whole of Baden-Württemberg, the District Court of Konstanz is responsible for insolvency proceedings and the shipping register, the District Court of Singen (Hohentwiel) is for agricultural matters and the District Court of Freiburg im Breisgau is for commercial , cooperative and partnership registers responsible.

The courthouse at Bahnhofstrasse 8 was built in the early 1890s and finally inaugurated as the Grand Ducal District Court in 1892 . The building in the style of historicism consists of a two-storey main building made of masonry bricks and decorated with a column portal . To the west of the main building, there is a courtroom in a single-storey extension . Before this courthouse was built, the district court changed hands several times, the building in Lingen: until 1892 it was in a former mansion of Reichlin of Meldegg at the grade mountain road accommodated (later commercial school, now municipal music school), before there was a county criminal court , including jail in the old Überlinger Franciscan monastery and at the beginning of the 19th century, after the founding of the Überlingen district office , in the town hall .

The District Court of Konstanz is superordinate to the District Court of Überlingen, and the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe .
