Anantapur (also Anantapuram ) is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .
Anantapur is located at an altitude of 349 m in the center of southern India, halfway between the two major cities of Hyderabad in the north and Bangalore in the south. The national highway NH 7 , which connects the two metropolises with each other, runs through Anantapur. The parallel railway connection also runs through Anantapur.
