Kakinada is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .

Kakinada is the capital of the East Godavari district . It is located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal 30 km north of the Godavari estuary. The city of Rajahmundry is 50 km to the west . The national highway NH 216 runs through the city. At the 2011 census, the population of Kakinada was 376,861.

Kakinada is located in a special economic zone.
