Anatoli Nikolajewitsch Krupenski ( Russian Анатолий Николаевич Крупенский ; born November 3, 1850 in Chișinău ; † December 5, 1923 in Rome ) was the Russian ambassador to Italy and Norway , privy councilor and court master .

Life

He was born on November 3, 1850 in Chisinău, the capital of the Bessarabian Governorate .

He studied at the Imperial University of St. Vladimir. In 1871 he moved to Lomonosov University in Moscow , where he received his degree in 1874. He then joined the Russian Foreign Ministry. As a second-degree secretary in the Russian embassy in Vienna, he was appointed chamberlain . He then moved to the Embassy in London, where he was appointed a first-degree secretary. From 1869 to 1905 he was a consultant in the Russian embassy in Rome. After Norway gained independence in 1905, he became the first Russian ambassador there. In 1912 he became the Russian ambassador to Italy . He stayed there after the October Revolution . He died in Rome on December 5, 1923.

He was part of the noble Krupensky family. His father was Nikolai Matveevich Krupensky and his brother was Vasily Nikolayevich Krupensky.
