André Clarindo dos Santos (born March 8, 1983 in São Paulo , Brazil ), usually only briefly called André Santos , is a Brazilian football player .

Career

His professional career began with Figueirense FC , later André Santos was loaned out to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and Atlético Mineiro .

For the 2008 season he moved to SC Corinthians Paulista , where André Santos achieved his ultimate football breakthrough. He was one of the team's most important performers. He rose to the Brazilian first division , winning the 2009 São Paulo State Championship and the Brazilian Cup .

After a successful time with the Corinthians, Santos went to the UEFA room like many of his compatriots and signed with the Turkish record champions Fenerbahçe Istanbul ; It was agreed not to disclose the transfer fee . He made his first game for Fenerbahçe on July 25, 2009, in a friendly against Boluspor , in which he also scored his first goal.

On August 31, 2011, Arsenal FC announced the signing of Santos.

On February 11, 2013 Santos was loaned to Gremio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense until the end of the season. There he came to eight appearances in the Copa Libertadores , where he scored one goal. After the loan expired, he moved to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro , for whom he played from 2005 to 2006.

In 2015 he was under contract with the Eastern Switzerland Challenge League Club FC Wil, in July 2016 he signed with the Turkish second division team Boluspor .

He returned to Brazil that summer with his move to Figueirense FC. He ended his career in early 2019.

National team

The coach of Brazil , Dunga nominated André Santos for the cadres of the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2009 , where he even there his debut in the national team was on 15 June 2009 in the first group match of Group B of the tournament against Egypt . André Santos played all games in the tournament and made a significant contribution to winning the Confed Cup in 2009 .

He participated in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, but was not nominated for the 2010 FIFA World Cup by Carlos Dunga .

A year later, André Santos was in the squad for the 2011 Copa America in Argentina , after he was always the first choice for the position of left-back after the 2010 World Cup under the new national coach Mano Menezes .

Style of play

André Santos is considered a talented left-back who also has offensive qualities with frequent dangerous advances down the left flank to the opposing baseline. He is able to play the fatal pass .
