Andre Siems
Andre Siems (born July 7, 1975 in Munich ) is a journalist , sports commentator and radio host . He currently works as a football commentator for Bayerischer Rundfunk and the pay TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland . He has been married to a girl from Sulzbach-Rosenberg ( Upper Palatinate ) since August 2014 and lives in Starnberg.
Career
Andre Siems grew up in Unterhaching and went to primary school there too. After attending a grammar school in Munich for three years , he moved to Carinthia at the age of 15 , where he stayed until he graduated from high school. He lived a total of 5 years at the Pressegger See near Hermagor, including a few months in Italy ( Urbino ), where he learned the Italian language. He graduated from high school in Italian. He is a connoisseur of Italian football - especially the Serie A . After his school career, Andre Siems returned to Munich, where he studied languages and later, after an internship at Radio Gong 96.3, started at Bayerischer Rundfunk ( Bayern 3 ). He has been working there since 1998. Two years later he became a football commentator for the pay-TV channel Sky Deutschland (earlier premiere), where he primarily comments on matches in the Italian and Spanish leagues. Since the 2007/2008 season, Siems has been commenting on football games in the ARD Bundesliga conference on the radio , followed by games in the DFB Cup, the Football Champions League and the German national football team.
Between 2000 and 2006 Siems was the stadium announcer for SpVgg Unterhaching .
Radio presenter
Siems moderated the “Bayern 3 Morningshow” together with Roman Roell for two and a half years and various other formats at Bayern 3. He is currently working as a moderator and commentator in the BR sports department. He can currently be heard on Bayern 1 and B5 in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League . He is also used regularly in the DFB Cup . Andre Siems has been commenting on various soccer games for BR TV since 2017.
Others
Andre Siems has been a reporter and commentator at all soccer world championships since 2006 and also commented on the final for ARD radio in 2018. Since 2008 he has been on site at all European football championships on ARD radio and in 2016 was allowed to comment on the EM final. Winter sports are his great passion. Since 2010 he has been commenting on biathlon and alpine skiing at the Olympic Games and also the biathlon and alpine skiing world cups. For several years Siems has been the course spokesman for the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and event moderator at the long-distance triathlon in Roth. In 2019 he was awarded the "Herbert Zimmermann Prize" in the category: "Best Report"
