Andreas Flury

Andreas Flury (born October 19, 1853 in Schiers ; † August 10, 1938 there , reformed , entitled to live in Schiers and Saas in Prättigau ) was a Swiss doctor .

Life

Andreas Flury was born on October 19, 1853 as the son of Pastor Peter Flury in Schiers. After graduating from grammar school in Stuttgart , he studied medicine in Tübingen and Zurich , which he completed in 1879 with the state examination. In addition, he received short surgical training courses from Ferdinand Riedinger in Würzburg , Richard Volkmann in Halle , Bernhard von Langenbeck in Berlin and Theodor Billroth in Vienna . He then ran a doctor's practice in Schiers from 1880 to 1938 . At the same time, he worked as a doctor at the Schiers Hospital from 1881 to 1926, 25 years of which as a volunteer.

Andreas Flury, who married Guyer, who was born in 1885, died on August 10, 1938, two months before he was 85 years old in Schiers.

Act

Andreas Flury, who continued his father's social activities together with his brother Paul, also paid for the deficit in the hospital bill. He was a promoter of public hygiene and was interested in folklore and culture.
