Andreas Göpfert

Andreas Göpfert (* 1947 in Dresden ) is a German choir director and music journalist .

Life

Andreas Göpfert was a member of the Dresden Kreuzchor until his Abitur in 1966 , where he was particularly influenced musically by Rudolf Mauersberger ( Kreuzkantor 1930–1971). Getting to know the most important works of church music from the past and present set the course for studying musicology , school music and German at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . There he expanded his practical experience as a member of the Hallenser Madrigalisten chamber choir by performing music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods . From 1980 to 1999 he directed this ensemble, with which he traveled to European countries and as far as Israel. Several CD productions, radio and television recordings as well as prizes at international choir competitions in Debrecen , Marktoberdorf , Tolosa , “ Let the Peoples Sing ” of the ( EBU ) made his vocal ensemble internationally known. In addition to his occupation with choral music and choirs, Göpfert worked as a lecturer at Leipzig Music Publishers .

Furthermore, Andreas Göpfert is federal chairman of the Choir and Course Association Working Group Music in the Young (AMJ), member of the Presidium of the Working Group of German Choir Associations (ADC), juror at their national and international choir and composition competitions . As a music journalist , he takes a stand on choral issues and occasionally publishes choral music for publishers. Professor Andreas Göpfert has held the chair for choral conducting at the Saar University of Music since 1996 and directs its university and chamber choir. Since 1997 he has been head of the Evangelical Choir Community on the Saar and artistic director of the Association for Music in the Ludwigskirche in Saarbrücken.
