Andreas Günter (born February 12, 1988 in Freudenstadt ) is a former German Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Andreas Günter lives in Freiburg and starts for SV Baiersbronn . In October 2004 he competed in his first international junior races in Kranj and in January 2005 in Planica his first FIS races. In September of that year he achieved a single-digit placement in an FIS race for the first time in fourth place in Winterberg . In December 2006 Günter was able to contest his first races in the B World Cup in Steamboat Springs . His first race, a competition after the Gundersen method , he finished 34th for more than a year, he should start regularly in this competition series in Stryn he could as in fifth place a sprint in March 2007 for the first time a top ten result in achieve this series of competitions. In January 2008, Günter debuted in Seefeld in Nordic Combined World Cup and finished second in his first sprint race one 36th place. At the Junior World Championships in Nordic Skiing in Zakopane in 2008 , he finished fifth in the Gundersen competition, was sixth in the sprint and won the gold medal in the team competition alongside Wolfgang Bösl , Markus Förster and Stefan Tuss . In Oslo he won his first World Cup points in a Gundersen race in 26th place the following month. One day later he was 20th in a compact sprint. He achieved this position several more times, but has never been better than 20th in the World Cup. Since 2008 Günter has mostly competed in the World Cup, at times also in the Continental Cup or other lower-class racing series. His best result in the overall World Cup so far is a 45th place, achieved in the 2007/08 season . He ended his career in 2013.
