Andreas Tiffner (born February 10, 1991 in Feldkirchen in Carinthia ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a striker .

Career

Youth and club career

Tiffner began his active career as a football player in the youth department of SV Steuerberg in his home town of Steuerberg in the Feldkirchen district in Carinthia. There he went through several youth league classes until 2006 and was active on loan in the youth team of FC Kärnten from August 2005 to May 2006 . After returning to his home club for around two months, he received a promising offer from the German soccer club TSV 1860 Munich . From July 2006 to August 2007 Tiffner was mainly in the squad of the U-19 team of the club and so came to some missions.

When he left the club again, he transferred to FC Red Bull Salzburg , where he also attended the club's own academy. After he made some appearances in the youth team during the 2007/08 season and partly in the U-19 youth league sponsored by Toto , he already made two professional appearances in the same season for the Red Bull Juniors Salzburg in the second-rate Austrian first division .

In the following season 2008/09 the young striker was active both for the U-19 team and for the juniors in the first division. He scored 18 goals in 19 league games for the U-19 team and was not only the team's top scorer in front of his teammate Marco Meilinger , but also the top scorer in the entire U-19 youth league. In addition, the Carinthian native reached second place in the final table with the youth team and was thus runner-up in the 2008/09 season, 13 points behind the U-19 team from St. Pölten . Furthermore Tiffner came to twelve missions for the team in the first division and scored one goal.

As already mentioned, the center forward made his debut in Austrian professional football in the 2007/08 season when he came on for David Witteveen in the 77th minute in a 1-1 home draw against SC Schwanenstadt . He scored his first professional goal the following season, when he scored the 1-0 lead in the 2-1 home win over FC Gratkorn on May 8, 2009, almost one year to the day after his professional debut, after preliminary work by Philipp Zulechner scored. Furthermore, Tiffner came this season to two appearances in the ÖFB Cup , in which he was in two games and contributed one goal.

After he had already been recommended by his teammate Marko Vujić , the former professional soccer player and current player agent Alexander Sperr introduced a move to Upper Austria to FC Blau-Weiß Linz with play in the third-class regional league center. Although the transfer period was already over, Tiffner could still be brought into the team as a loan player in mid-August 2009 due to the regulations for youth players. He played a total of 24 games for Linz , scoring ten goals. He also played in the second round match of the ÖFB Cup 2009/10 against the amateurs of FK Austria Wien and scored the 1-0 lead for his team in the 93rd minute of extra time. After the team led 2-0 after 110 minutes and the amateurs of Wiener Austria equalized with two goals from substitute Bernhard Ungerböck within two minutes shortly before the end , the subsequent penalty shoot-out was won confidently against the team playing a class higher and moved into the second round of the competition .

In the summer of 2010 he moved to Bundesliga champions FK Austria Wien . After just one season he was awarded to local rivals First Vienna FC . In the following season he was signed by the Vienna sports club . After a year he returned to Carinthia and played in the 2013/14 season for SK Austria Klagenfurt in the Regionalliga Mitte. Then he went to SV Feldkirchen in the Carinthian regional league.

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the regional league team Annabichler SV . After half a year he returned to Feldkirchen.

In the summer of 2016 he joined the third-class SV Schwechat .

International

Tiffner made his first international appearances for the U-16 team in his home country. His most successful time in the national team to date was with the U-17 team , for which he scored eight goals in 14 games. He also came to four missions, as well as one hit for the U-18 national team of Austria . For his first call-up for the U-18 selection, he came at the beginning of September 2008, when he was nominated by U-18 national coach Andreas Heraf in the squad for a friendly international match against Finland's U-18s. Not only Tiffner, but also the team boss Heraf then made their team debut on September 16, 2009 in a 3-1 victory over the Finns. In the game, the young center forward scored the first goal for his team in the 25th minute of the game.

At the end of August 2009, Tiffner was finally called up by Heraf, who is also the coach of the U-19 team , for a friendly test match against U-19 Slovenia. In the game on September 8, 2009, the committed center forward was substituted on in the 21st minute for the injured goal scorer to make it 1-0, Markus Pink . Just minutes later Tiffner scored his first goal for the team again on his team debut; this time from a penalty kick. In the end, the Austrians clearly won 5-1. At the end of September 2009 Tiffner was nominated for the first qualifying game for the U-19 European Championship 2010 in France . Between 2009 and 2010 Tiffner was in nine international matches for Austria's U-19 team and scored one goal.
