Andri Ragettli (born August 21, 1998 in Flims , Graubünden ) is a Swiss freestyle skier . He was the winner of the Slopestyle World Cup in the 2015/16 season and competes in the disciplines of halfpipe , slopestyle and big air . At the Nine Royals Event in Watles, Italy, the man from Flims was the first freeskier in the world to land the forward Quadruple Cork 1800.

Career

Ragettli has been participating in the AFP World Tour competitions since 2011. In February 2013, he won his first victory in the halfpipe at the Swiss Freeski Open in Davos . He made his World Cup debut in August 2013 in Cardrona , which he finished in 27th place in slopestyle . In the 2014/15 season he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in Silvaplana and thus finished third in the Slopestyle World Cup. In February 2015 he took second place at the Red Bull PlayStreets in Bad Gastein . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he won the Big Air competition at the New Zealand Winter Games in Cardrona. In the further course of the season he won in slopestyle at the SFR Freestyle Tour in Val Thorens , at the World Cup in Silvaplana and at the Total Fight in Grandvalira . He also finished second in Big Air at the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Boston . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , he took sixth place in Slopestyle and at the X Games Oslo 2016, 12th place in Big Air. At the end of the season, he finished fourth in the overall World Cup and first in the Slopestyle World Cup .

In the 2016/17 season, Ragettli was among the top ten in all six World Cup appearances. He won in Québec in the slopestyle and also won there third place in the Big Air. He reached the second place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the Winter X-Games 2017 he was fifth in slopestyle and at the X-Games Norway 2017 in Hafjell he was sixth in both slopestyle and big air. At the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he came sixth in slopestyle. On March 28, 2017, at the Nine Royals Event at Watles, he was the first athlete ever to achieve a "Quad Cork 1800": four backflips with five turns around his own axis.

At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Ragettli finished second in slopestyle at the World Cup in Cardrona . Two third and three second places followed. He also won the Slopestyle in Snowmass and at the end of the season reached third place in the overall World Cup and first place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2018 he won the bronze medal in Slopestyle and came seventh in Slopestyle at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, he won the Big Air in Cardrona and took third place in the Big Air in Modena . Third places followed and his fifth World Cup victory in Font Romeu, Québec and Silvaplana . He won the Big Air World Cup for the first time and came third in the Slopestyle World Cup. In the 2019/20 season he won the Slopestyle World Cup for the third time with two first places and one third place. At the Winter X Games 2020 he won bronze in Big Air and at the X Games Norway 2020 bronze in Big Air and gold in Slopestyle.
