Avesnes-le-Comte ( Flemish : s'Gravenhoven ) is a French municipality with 1902 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement Arras and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Avesnes-le-Comte . The inhabitants are called Avesnois .
geography
Avesnes-le-Comte is about 17 kilometers west of Arras . Neighboring municipalities of Avesnes-le-Comte are Noyelle-Vion in the north, Hauteville in the east, Fosseux in the southeast, Barly in the south, Sombrin and Grand-Bullecourt in the southwest and Beaufort-Blavincourt in the west.
The former route nationale 339 (today's D339) runs through the municipality .
