Brebières is located on the canalised Scarpe . Brebières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cuincy in the north, Lambres-lez-Douai in the north-east, Corbehem in the east, Gouy-sous-Bellonne in the south-east, Noyelles-sous-Bellonne in the south, Vitry-en-Artois in the west and Quiéry-la- Moth in the northwest.
The former Route nationale 50 runs through the municipality . The station Brebières-Sud is situated on the Paris-Lille railway .
