Gavrelle is a French commune in Arrondissement Arras in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to Arras-2 (until 2015: Canton Vimy ). It has 627 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called Gavrellois .

geography

Gavrelle is about nine kilometers northeast of Arras . Gavrelle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Oppy in the north, Fresnes-lès-Montauban in the east, Biache-Saint-Vaast and Plouvain in the southeast, Rœux in the south and southeast, Fampoux in the south, Athies in the southwest and Bailleul-Sir-Berthoult in the west.

The A26 autoroute leads along the southern edge of the municipality and the A1 autoroute along the eastern edge . The former route nationale 50 (today's D950) crosses the municipality.
