Angus was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of North East Scotland , which was redesigned and expanded to ten constituencies as part of the constituencies' revision in 2011. Here the constituency of Angus was abolished. It included the southern areas of the Council Area Angus and small areas of Dundee and Perth and Kinross . The areas have largely been absorbed into the new constituencies of Angus North and Mearns and Angus South . In the 2001 census survey, a total of 76,614 people lived within its borders. A deputy was sent.
