Aniuar Borissowitsch Gedujew ( Russian Аниуар Борисович Гедуев ; born January 26, 1987 ) is a Russian wrestler . He became European welterweight champion in free style in 2013 and 2014 .

Career

Aniuar Gedujew, who comes from the Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, started wrestling as a teenager. He concentrates on the free style. He is a member of the army and starts for CSKA Krasnodar . He was or is trained by AW Sakujew, Alexis Chassijew and AG Magomedow.

Aniuar Geduev did not stand out as a junior. His first noteworthy result comes from the Russian championship in 2009, where he took an excellent 3rd place in the welterweight division behind Denis Zargusch and Alexander Gostijew. His international career began in 2010 when he took part in important tournaments. So he occupied z. B. at the World Cup 2010 in Moscow behind Murad Gaidarow , Belarus and Tschamsulwara Tschamsulwarajew , Azerbaijan, 3rd place.

In 2011 he was welterweight behind Irbek Walentinowitsch Farnijew Russian runner-up. In December 2011 he started the test tournament for the Olympic Games in London in 2012 and won there ahead of Andrew Howe , USA, Əşrəf Əliyev , Azerbaijan and Zhang Chongyao from China. In 2012 and 2013 he could not place in the front field at the Russian championships.

In 2013 he won the largest and most important Russian wrestling tournament in Krasnoyarsk in front of Saba Chubeschtu, Rasul Dschukajew and Kachaber Chubeschty, all of Russia, and was therefore used for the first time at an international championship, the European championship in Tbilisi. There he presented himself well prepared and became the new European champion with victories over Tomasz Rogisz, Poland, Dawit Chuzischwili , Georgia, Leonid Basan , Bulgaria, Grigori Grigorjan , Armenia and Gábor Hatos , Hungary. At this year's World Championships, the Russian Wrestling Association used the 2013 Russian champion Kachaber Chubeschty.

In 2014 Aniuar Gedujew won again at the "Ivan Yarigin" memorial in Krasnoyarsk and was therefore sent to the start again at the European Championships in April 2014 in Vantaa / Finland. He was also successful there and was able to become European champion for the second time with victories over Jakob Makaraschwili , Georgia, Krysztian Brzozowski , Poland, Ali Schabanau , Belarus and the routier Jabrail Hasanow from Azerbaijan.

In 2015 he was used at both the European Games in Baku and the World Cup in Las Vegas. In Baku he won the next European title in a superior style and in Las Vegas he won a bronze medal after a loss in the semi-finals against Jordan Burroughs and a victory in the consolation round over Alireza Ghasemi from Iran.

In the Olympic wrestling tournament in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, Aniuar Gedujew won in the first round over Bekzod Abdurachmanow from Uzbekistan and threw defending champion and multiple world champion Jordan Burroughs out of the race in the next fight. In the semifinals he also defeated his old rival Jabrail Hasanow, but in the fight for the Olympic victory he lost to Hassan Yazdani from Iran and thus won the silver medal.
