Anna and the Ghost (Original title: Giving Up the Ghost ) is an American fantasy comedy film from 1998 . Directed by Claudia Weill , the screenplay was written by Anthea Sylbert and Richard Romanus .

action

Anna Hobson, a lawyer, is happily married to Jake, who works in the same profession. One day Jake is jogging in a park and dies after being faint.

Anna distracts her thoughts from the grief with intensive work. She helps policeman Kevin investigate a murder case. Alone at home, she speaks as if she were speaking to Jake. One day Jake's ghost answers her. He suggests that she commit suicide and be reunited with him. At times he tries to urge her to commit suicide.

Jake's ghost helps Anna solve the murder case. Anna falls in love with Kevin.
