Kenneth Bentley "Ken" Kramer (born February 19, 1942 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American politician . Between 1979 and 1987 he represented the fifth constituency of the state of Colorado in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Ken Kramer attended Miles Township High School in Skokie until 1959 . He then studied at the University of Illinois until 1963 , before completing his education in 1966 after studying law at Harvard University . Then he started working as a lawyer. Between 1967 and 1970 Kramer was a soldier in the US Army . Between 1970 and 1972 he served as the assistant district attorney in the Colorado Fourth Judicial District. Kramer is a member of the Republican Party and was a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 1973 to 1978 . Between 1974 and 1986 he was also a delegate to regional Republican conventions in Colorado.

In 1978 Kramer was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded William L. Armstrong on January 3, 1979 . After three re-elections, he was able to complete a total of four legislative terms in Congress by January 3, January 3, 1987 . In 1986 he renounced another candidacy. Instead, he applied unsuccessfully to join the US Senate . Between 1988 and 1989 Kramer worked for the budget department of the Army Ministry. In 1989 he became associate judge at the Federal Appeals Court for Veterans Affairs and between 2000 and 2004 he was presiding judge at that court. Kenneth Kramer now lives in Arlington .
