Frank Edward Evans (born September 6, 1923 in Pueblo , Colorado , † June 3, 2010 there ) was an American politician . Between 1965 and 1979 he represented the third constituency of the state of Colorado in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frank Evans attended the public schools in Colorado Springs and then enrolled at Pomona College in Claremont ( California ) one. In 1943 he paused his training to serve as a naval aviator in the US Navy during World War II . After the war, Evans studied law at the University of Denver until 1950, among other things. After his admission as a lawyer in the same year, he began to work in his new profession in Pueblo.

Politically, Evans joined the Democratic Party . Between 1961 and 1964 he was a member of the Colorado House of Representatives . In the 1964 congressional election, he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third district of the state . There he took over from the Republican John Chenoweth on January 3, 1965 . Since he also won the following six congressional elections, Evans could remain in Congress until January 3, 1979 . In 1978 he renounced another candidacy.
