Doug Lamborn

Doug Lamborn (born May 24, 1954 in Leavenworth , Leavenworth County , Kansas ) is an American politician. He is a member of the Republican Party and since 2007 as a representative of the fifth  congressional district of the state of Colorado member of the House of Representatives .

Doug Lamborn studied first at the University of Kansas in Lawrence , where he graduated in 1978 with a bachelor's degree ; In 1985 he received his doctorate in Juris Doctor . As a result, he initially worked as a lawyer in his own law firm. In 1995 he was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives, which he was a member until 1998; thereafter he was State Senator until 2006 , where he was President pro tempore between 1999 and 2000 .

In 2006 he was elected to the House of Representatives in Washington , where he succeeded the no longer candidate Joel Hefley . Two years later he defended his seat with 60 percent of the vote against the Democrat Hal Bidlack. After further re-elections in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016, his term is expected to run until January 3, 2019. On April 23, 2018, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Doug Lamborn did not collect a sufficient number of support votes for the 2018 primaries and therefore cannot appear on the Republican ballot paper.
