Annemarieke van Rumpt (born April 29, 1980 in Middelharnis ) is a former Dutch rower who won two Olympic medals in eighth .

Athletic career

Annemarieke van Rumpt from the Nijmeegse student Roei Vereniging Phocas began rowing in 1998. She took the four without coxswain second in the U23 World Regatta 2002. In 2003 she joined the adult class in the four without coxswain on in the 2003 World Championships won Sarah Siegelaar , Laura Posthuma , Annemarieke van Rumpt and Helen Tanger silver medal behind the US foursome. In 2004 Annemarieke van Rumpt competed in the Rowing World Cup in double sculls and eighth. At the 2004 Olympic Games , the Romanian eighth won, behind the US eighth, the Dutch women won the bronze medal with Froukje Wegman , Marlies Smulders , Nienke Hommes , Hurnet Dekkers , Annemarieke van Rumpt, Annemiek de Haan , Sarah Siegelaar, Helen Tanger and taxwoman Ester Workel .

In 2005 the Dutch eighth was redeployed to three positions and competed at the World Championships in the line-up Femke Dekker , Nienke Dekkers , Nienke Hommes, Hurnet Dekkers, Annemarieke van Rumpt, Laura Posthuma, Annemiek de Haan, Helen Tanger and Ester Workel. The Australians won ahead of the Romanians and the Dutch. In 2006 Annemarieke van Rumpt and Annemiek de Haan rowed in twos without a helmsman , and the two finished fifth at the 2006 World Championships . It was not until 2007 that they were back in the Dutch eighth place, which won the B final at the 2007 World Championships and thus achieved seventh place in the overall standings. In 2008, the eighth went to the A-final at the Olympic Games and won the silver medal behind the US boat with a lead of three hundredths of a second over the Romanian boat. The crew of the Dutch eight from 2008 consisted of Femke Dekker, Marlies Smulders, Nienke Kingma , Roline Repelaer van Driel , Annemarieke van Rumpt, Helen Tanger, Sarah Siegelaar, Annemiek de Haan and Ester Workel.
