Anniviers is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the Swiss canton of Valais .

It was founded on January 1st, 2009 through the merger of all six municipalities of the Val d'Anniviers - Ayer , Chandolin , Grimentz , Saint-Jean , Saint-Luc and Vissoie . It is one of the largest municipalities in Switzerland in terms of area. The seat of the municipal administration is in Vissoie.
