Anselm Hertz

Anselm Hertz OP (born June 4, 1924 in Hamburg ; † February 14, 2013 in Cazis ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman , Dominican , ethicist and pastoral theologian .

Life

Anselm Hertz joined the religious order of the Dominicans in 1953 and received the priesthood . He was a professor at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) and the Université de Friborg . As an emeritus he taught pastoral theology at the Theological University in Chur and was spiritual in the women's monastery in Cazis until his death .

His handbook of Christian ethics is considered a standard work of theological ethics .

Hertz joined the Catholic student association KDSt.V. in 1956. Teutonia to Freiburg im Üechtland, later also the VKDSt. Eckart (Strasbourg) Cologne, the KDSt.V. Alania Bonn , the KDSt.V.
