Anselmo Guido Pecorari (born May 19, 1946 in Sermide , Mantua Province , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Anselmo Guido Pecorari received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Mantua on September 27, 1970 . He received his doctorate in canon law and catholic theology .

On March 25, 1980, Anselmo Guido Pecorari entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See . He worked in the Apostolic Nunciatures in Liberia , Spain , Ireland and Slovenia as well as in the Vatican State Secretariat . On December 24, 1981, Pope John Paul II awarded him the honorary title of Chaplain to His Holiness ( Monsignor ) and on August 8, 1991 the title of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness .

On 29 November 2003 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To Titular Archbishop of Populonia and ordered him to the Apostolic Nuncio in Rwanda . He received his episcopal ordination on January 11, 2004, Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano ; Co- consecrators were the President of the Apostolic Alms Administration, Archbishop Oscar Rizzato , and the Bishop of Mantua, Egidio Caporello . Anselmo Guido Pecorari resigned as Apostolic Nuncio in Rwanda on January 17, 2008. On May 24, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Apostolic Nuncio in Uruguay .

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Bulgaria on April 25, 2014 . On July 11, 2014, he also became apostolic nuncio in North Macedonia .
