António da Conceição Silva Oliveira , called Toni , (born December 6, 1961 in Maximinos ) is a former Portuguese football player and current coach .
Career as a player
Toni started his career at Sporting Braga in 1980 . After one season he moved to GD Riopele . In 1982 he moved to FC Vizela . In 1985 he moved back to Sporting Braga, where he had played five years earlier. For the 1989/90 season he moved to FC Porto . After two seasons he ended his career.
Career as a coach
In 2002 Toni got the position of assistant coach at Sporting Braga . After a season at Braga, he changed clubs and was head coach at Naval 1 ° de Maio . He was released after one season. In 2005 he became a coach at CF Estrela Amadora , who were playing in the SuperLiga at the time . He finished the season in 9th place. For the 2006/07 season he changed clubs and henceforth coached Vitória Setúbal . After four months, he was released for failure. In 2007 he was signed by CD Trofense . In his 1st season with Trofense he rose to the Sagres League . After losing the first three games in the Sagres League, he was fired. On April 5, 2009 he signed a contract (until 2011) with CFR Cluj . In his first season he won the Cupa României with CFR . On November 14, 2009, the contractual relationship with the club, which was the front runner in League 1 at that time , was dissolved. In December 2010 he became the head coach of FC Brașov . Because Ioan Neculaie, the club's patron, refused to sign some of Toni's dream players after a disappointing second half of 2010/11 , he resigned on July 14, 2011 and was replaced by the previous assistant coach Daniel Isăilă . On January 6, 2012 Toni was presented by Astra Ploieşti as the successor to the dismissed Tibor Selymes , but the club separated after poor results in the first five championship games on March 26, 2012 from him again.
