Antônio Fernando Saburido OSB (born June 10, 1947 in Cabo de Santo Agostinho , Pernambuco ) is a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Olinda e Recife .

Life

Antônio Fernando Saburido joined the Congregation of Benedictine in, put on 21 March 1978, the profession , and received on 17 December 1983, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on May 31, 2000 auxiliary bishop in Olinda e Recife and titular bishop of Tacia Montana . He was ordained episcopal on August 20th of the same year by the Archbishop of Olinda e Recife, José Cardoso Sobrinho OCarm ; Co- consecrators were Marcelo Pinto Carvalheira , Archbishop of Paraíba , and Clemente José Carlos Isnard OSB, Former Bishop of Nova Friburgo . As a motto he chose secundum VERBUM TUUM .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on May 18, 2005 Bishop of Sobral and on July 1, 2009 Archbishop of Olinda e Recife.
