Anthony Wilson (born August 20, 1973 in Sydney ) is a former Australian ice hockey player who played most of his career with the Sydney Ice Dogs in the Australian Ice Hockey League .

Career

Anthony Wilson began his career with the Blacktown Bullets in the New South Wales Ice Hockey League . In 2002 he moved to the Australian Ice Hockey League founded a year earlier , where he was initially active with the Sydney Bears . From 2003 to the end of his career in 2013 he was on the ice with the Sydney Ice Dogs . With the ice dogs from his hometown, he won the Goodall Cup, the Australian championship , in 2004 and 2013 . In 2013 he and his team also won the H Newman Reid Trophy as the main round winner of the AIHL .

After his playing career, Wilson was General Manager of the Sydney Ice Dogs in 2015.

International

For Australia , Wilson first took part in the 1995 C2 world championships and the 1996 , 1997 , 1998 , 1999 and 2000 D world championships . After switching to the current division system, he played at the Division II World Championships in 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , when he was promoted to Division I for the first time at the home tournament in Newcastle , and in 2010 when he was the best Defender of the tournament was chosen.
