Anton-Florian Bader (born January 25, 1981 in Pitt Meadows , British Columbia , Canada ) is a German ice hockey player who last played for the Füchse Duisburg in the ice hockey league .

Career

Anton Bader, whose parents come from Germany but lived in British Columbia, received his first appearances in 1997 with the Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League , one of the three top junior leagues in North America. After two years, the right-handed shooter moved to league rivals Tri-City Americans , where he also spent two seasons. After three more seasons in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen , the defender moved in 2002 to the East Coast Hockey League , where he played for the first time in the senior division. Since Bader also performed well in his other stations in North America, he switched to the German Ice Hockey League for the 2003/04 season , where he joined the Kassel Huskies . In 2005 he was promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga to the top division with EV Duisburg and was relegated a year later. During the 2006/07 season Bader moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , with whom he received a contract until the end of the 2007/08 season . Due to unsatisfactory performance, however, the contract was prematurely terminated in the summer of 2007, whereupon the defender moved to the Straubing Tigers .

In the course of the 2007/08 season , however, the right-handed shooter was transferred from Straubing to the DEG Metro Stars , who had to complain of considerable personnel problems due to injuries to several defenders. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season Bader moved back to the Füchsen Duisburg, where he had already become a national player two years earlier. In the same season he was also active for the Herner EV in the ice hockey league . After the right-handed shooter had spent the entire 2009/10 season in Herne, he returned to Duisburg again in the summer of 2010 and once again joined the Füchsen Duisburg.

International

At the Junior World Championship in 2000 , Bader was first used for a DEB selection. He also played in the title fights a year later for the junior national team again. Since the 2005/06 season he was part of the extended squad of the senior national team , for which he was used for the first time at the Division I World Cup in Amiens in 2006 and scored his first goal there.

In 2011, Anton Bader ended his ice hockey career and turned his hobby into a profession. Today he works in the real estate industry. During his active career, Anton Bader bought single-family houses in Vancouver, Canada during his "summer break", which he renovated and then sold at a profit. Since January 2012, Anton Bader and his wife Sarah have been running their real estate office in the south of Cologne, TOMAX Immobilien eK
