Anton Braun (born April 28, 1990 in Berlin ) is a German rower .

In 2008 Braun was a member of the junior national team, at the U19 World Championships in Ottensheim he won the bronze medal in a four-man without a helmsman . In this boat class he took part in the U23 World Championships in Račice u Štětí in 2009 , where he also won bronze together with Andreas Kuffner , Hendrik Bohnekamp and Bastian Bechler. After a first World Cup appearance in a foursome, Braun was again nominated for the U23 World Championships in 2010 and became U23 World Champion with the German eighth . In 2011 he was again in the medal ranks in the U23 area when he achieved bronze in a two-man without a helmsman with Bastian Bechler .

At the end of March 2012, Braun and Felix Drahotta , who finished fourth in the Olympic Games in 2008 in this boat class, prevailed in the first national elimination in a pair without a helmsman. They beat all members of the Germany eight who were reigning world champions at the time. After the boat took third place in the final small boat inspection, Braun and Drahotta were nominated by national coach Ralf Holtmeyer for the two without a helmsman. At their first joint World Cup start in Belgrade they won the final, it was the first World Cup victory of a German two-man in several years. Braun and Drahotta finally competed at the Summer Olympics in London and finished 7th in the two without a helmsman.

In the new Olympic cycle, Braun was able to establish himself in the squad for the Germany eight . At the European Rowing Championships in Seville in 2013 , he won his first international title in the open age group in eighth rowing with the gold medal, and later he took silver at the World Championships of the same year behind the eighth of the United Kingdom. In the 2014 season he rowed with Bastian Bechler in two without and achieved a bronze rank at the European Championships and 5th place at the World Championships . He then managed to jump back into eighth position, with which Braun again won gold at the European Championships and silver at the World Cup behind the United Kingdom in the 2015 season. At the 2016 Olympic Games , Maximilian Korge , Max Planer , Anton Braun and Felix Wimberger finished 12th in the four without a helmsman.

Anton Braun is a sports soldier and starts for the Berlin rowing club .
