After he was initially no longer considered in the World Cup from 2002, Kalinitschenko started in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup and some jumps in the FIS Cup . At the Russian Championships on October 13th and 14th, 2011 in Almaty , Kazakhstan , he was able to win the title on the large hill after finishing second on the normal hill. He was then nominated again for the World Cup. On November 27, 2011, he achieved third place with the Russian team at his first World Cup competition in more than nine years in Kuusamo and thus his first podium finish. On the same day, as 29th, he jumped into the points in an individual competition in the World Cup for the second time in his career. He achieved his best result in a World Cup with 24th place on December 17, 2011 in Engelberg, Switzerland .
Kalinichenko is currently the coach of the Russian national team in Nordic combined.
