Anton Julius Busmann junior

Anton Julius Busmann junior (born October 13, 1686 in Hanover ; † November 2, 1770 there ) was a German lawyer and mayor of Hanover.

Anton Julius Busmann was the grandson of the city physician Christian Busmann and the son of the mayor Anton Julius Busmann senior .

Career

Anton Julius Busmann followed a similar career to his father: first of all, from 1708, he also studied law at the University of Helmstedt . He joined the administration of the city of Hanover in 1713 as secretary to the magistrate . After the death of his father in 1717, he took over the position initially as town syndikus and was elected mayor in 1719.

Alternating annually with the mayor Otto Heinrich Volger (until 1725), then with Christian Ulrich Grupen , Busmann headed the city administration for more than four decades. At the same time he was appointed court assessor in 1722 and in 1741 received the title of court counselor .

During Busmann's tenure as mayor, for example, the new buildings of the Nikolai monastery fell in 1728 and the hospital and monastery St. Spiritus in 1745 .

In June 1761, Busmann resigned from the mayor's office at his own request and received the 500 thalers he had asked for as a pension .

Others

The family owned the fathers' house in Leinstraße until 1722 .
