Anton Franz Ritter von Perger (born December 20, 1809 in Vienna ; † April 14, 1876 ​​there ) was an Austrian painter, graphic artist and writer.

Anton von Perger was initially a student and collaborator of his father, the painter and copper engraver Sigmund Ferdinand von Perger , on the engraving on the picture gallery in the Belvedere in Vienna. From 1826 to 1848 he exhibited his works at the Vienna Art Academy. In 1828 he stayed in Trieste , in 1830 in Rome .

From 1831 he studied anatomy in Vienna. In 1845 Perger was appointed professor of anatomy at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and held the post until his retirement in 1874.

In 1844 he worked on Adalbert Stifter's work "Vienna and the Viennese". In 1853 he became scriptor and in 1871 curator of the copper engraving collection in the court library .

In the period from 1863 to 1867 Perger was the editor of the "Communications of the Central Commission for Research and Conservation of Architectural Monuments". He published numerous historical, art-historical and folkloric works.

He was the father of the chemist Hugo von Perger and the musician Richard von Perger .
