The Apostolic Vicariate of Awasa ( Latin apostolicus Vicariatus Avasanus ) is in Ethiopia situated Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate based in Awasa .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Neghelli with the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Ethiopia on March 25, 1937 from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Galla and the Apostolic Prefecture Kaffa .
On February 13, 1940, it lost part of its territory to the Apostolic Prefecture of Hosanna .
On October 15, 1969, she took the name Awasa Apostolic Prefecture. With the Apostolic Constitution Qui volente Deo she was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate.
