Aqschürek Dostyquly Tangatarow ( Kazakh Ақжүрек Достықұлы Таңатаров , Russian Акжурек Достыкович Танатаров Akschurek Dostykowitsch Tanatarow * 2 September 1986 in Zhambyl , Kazakh SSR , USSR ) is a Kazakh wrestler . He won at the Olympic Games 2012 in London , a bronze medal in free style in lightweight .

Career

Aqschürek Tangatarow began wrestling as a teenager in 1996 in Taras. He is or has since been trained by Baurschan Normachanow, Malik Nadirbekow and Adilet Sarybajew. He wrestles exclusively in free style. Ser sports student weighs about 70 kg with a height of 1.73 meters and starts in the lightweight, the weight class up to 66 kg body weight.

He began his international career in 2003 at the Asian Cadet Junior Championship in Feng Yuang City, Taiwan. He took 4th place in the weight class up to 69 kg. In the following years he played in several international championships in the junior division, but could not place himself in the front field.

In 2008 he played an Olympic qualification tournament in Martigny / Switzerland , where he only finished 7th and therefore could not qualify for participation in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . In 2009 he finished 7th in the lightweight Asian championship in Pattaya and 10th in the 2010 World Cup in Moscow .

In 2011 he did not compete in any international championships. In 2012, however, he returned to the international mat and was greatly improved. He managed to qualify at the Olympic qualification tournament in Astana in the lightweight with a 2nd place behind Ichtiyor Nawrusow from Uzbekistan for the Olympic Games in London. In the Olympic tournament he defeated Andrei Kwiatkowski from Ukraine and Dawit Safarjan from Armenia , then lost to the former world champion Sushil Kumar from India and secured himself with a victory over the 2008 Olympic champion Ramazan Şahin from Turkey (2: 1 rounds, 8: 7 points) an Olympic bronze medal.

After the games, he received a three-room condominium in Taraz and a car from the Kazakh state as a bonus.
