Arborex and the secret society KIM is a radio play series that has appeared in 20 episodes on Karussell since 1986 . On February 16, 1986 the then Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein Uwe Barschel and Dieter Thomas Heck presented the symbolic figure of the Save the Forest campaign of the nationwide environmental protection association Wahlstedt in Friedrichsruh .

The proceeds from the cassettes and the also presented benefit long-playing record Tu was - u. a. with artists like Milva , Vicky Leandros and Peter Maffay - should help to set up an environmental protection information service (IDU) for educational material about environmental protection.

The manuscript comes from Fritz Hellmann . Speakers include Dieter Thomas Heck, Christian Stark , Alexandra Doerk and Jens Wawrczeck . Directed by Hans Joachim Herwald .

The three children Karsten, Ingo and Monika form the secret society KIM (an initial word from the names of the children). They are friends with the talking oak Arborex and Tuco, a wild pigeon who also speaks . Only the three children and initially the friar Martin, later also the friar brother Stephanus, Arborex and Tuco can understand as a special feature. Together they have committed themselves to environmental protection, which they practice true to their motto “Do something!”.

But other plots also occur (criminal hunt or treasure hunt, for example). Arborex, who, according to his friend Martin, is more than 1500 years old - a similar age is given in episode 7 according to a computer program - tells stories from his past and thus often helps to solve a problem.
