Arkady Ivanovich Maiboroda ( Russian Аркадий Иванович Майборода ; * 1798 in the district of Kremenchuk , Poltava governorate , † 1845 in Buinaksk ) was a Russian colonel who, as a captain , denounced his regimental commander , the Decembrist Pestel .

Life

In 1812 the aristocratic Arkadi Maiboroda entered the army as a cadet and in 1817 became an ensign . Since 1819 in the Moscow bodyguard regiment , he became a lieutenant a year later . Promoted to staff captain in the 35th Jägerregiment on horseback , he joined the Vyatka infantry regiment , commanded by Pestel, in May 1822 . Pestel handed Maiboroda command of a squadron - grenadiers . In 1823 Maiboroda was decorated with the Order of St. Anna 3rd Class.

In August 1824 Maiboroda was admitted to the Southern League of the Decembrists. His friendship with Pestel dates from that time. On November 25, 1825, Arkadi Maiboroda reported his superior to Adjutant General Roth as head of the Southern League. The general referred him to the chief of the General Staff, Hans Karl von Diebitsch-Sabalkanski . In the latter case, Captain Maiboroda made detailed statements.

During the Russo-Persian War Maiboroda took part in the assault on the Abbas Abad fortress and on Yerevan and in 1828 received the Order of the Sun, the Lion and the Order of Saint Anne, 2nd class. Raised to lieutenant colonel , he was deployed under Ivan Fyodorowitsch Paskewitsch in the late summer of 1831 in the final suppression of the Polish November uprising. For his participation in the war against the Caucasian mountain peoples in North Dagestan , he was awarded the Order of Saint Anne, 2nd class with imperial crown, in 1833. In 1836 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislaus 2nd Class. Having become a colonel in 1841, he commanded various regiments one after the other - for example, the 81st Apscheronsk Infantry Regiment from 1842 to 1844 . Between these commands he was ill several times for a long time.

Arkadi Maiboroda committed in the period from January to February of 1845 in Dagestan Buynaksk suicide .
