Armand Toasy

Armand Toasy (born November 14, 1939 in Ampondralava , Madagascar ) is Bishop Emeritus of Port-Bergé .

Life

Armand toasy studied at the seminary of Antananarivo and received on 13 April 1969, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He later became spiritual in the seminary of Ambatoroka and in October 1983 Episcopal Vicar in the Diocese of Ambanja .

On June 22, 1984 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Turuzi and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Majunga . The bishop of Majunga, Armand Gaétan Razafindratandra , donated him episcopal ordination on November 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Diégo-Suarez , Albert Joseph Tsiahoana , and the Bishop of Ambanja, Ferdinand Botsy OFMCap .

On July 3, 1987, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Miarinarivo and on October 18, 1993 as the first bishop of the newly established diocese of Port-Bergé. On November 24, 2008 he was given by Pope Benedict XVI. Georges Varkey Puthiyakulangara MEP provided as coadjutor.

His resignation was granted by Pope Francis on December 15, 2013.
