history
The diocese of Port-Bergé was established on October 13, 1993 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabiles Fratres from ceding territories from the diocese of Mahajanga and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Antsiranana as a suffragan .
