Armando José María Rossi

Armando José María Rossi OP (born April 14, 1945 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is an Argentine religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Concepción .

Life

Armando José María Rossi entered the religious order of the Dominicans and received on 20 December 1970, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 14 November 2000 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To Coadjutor Bishop of Concepción. The Archbishop of Salta , Mario Antonio Cargnello , ordained him episcopal on December 22nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Concepción, Bernhard Heinrich Witte OMI , and the Bishop of Orán , Jorge Rubén Lugones SJ .

On July 28, 2001 Armando José María Rossi succeeded Bernhard Heinrich Witte OMI, who resigned for reasons of age, Bishop of Concepción.

Shortly before reaching the age limit for bishops, Pope Francis accepted his resignation on March 19, 2020.
